9/16/05 :: TRIGON AND IT'S EMPLOYEES RAISE TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR HURRICANE RELIEF

In the tragic aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the Lakewood and Durango Trigon offices donated $2,000 dollars to the American Red Cross to assist recovery efforts along the United States Gulf Coast areas devastated by this natural disaster. As an authorized third party fundraiser for Red Cross Disaster Relief, Trigon collected voluntary monetary donations from employees the first 2 weeks of September 2005 joining the thousands of dollars raised by Coloradoans for the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Effort.

The role of the American Red Cross is to build a bridge of assistance for victims of disasters until they can access more permanent aid provided by government agencies. After an emergency period ends, the Red Cross assists by coordinating services with other agencies to help families affected by disasters such as Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita. The Red Cross has spent and distributed more than $521 million already to meet emergency needs of people in the Gulf Coast area and victims throughout the US providing food and water and shelter, emergency financial assistance, and physical and mental Health Services.
