Denver, CO - Trigon is engineering a success story in the telecommunications industry by providing permitting, survey, engineering, and project management services for several major telecommunications companies across the nation. Trigon is an anomaly, an oil and gas firm born in the midst of the worst downturn in its industry's recent history. Trigon was born at the beginning of the Colorado oil and gas bust and survived the 80's. The Denver based Oil and Gas Company has turned its core competency - managing complex engineering projects - into a growing and profitable venture by providing those services to the telecommunications industries. In 1999, Trigon added employee number 100. There were a third as many employees just two years ago. Stu Asselin, P.E., a principal and Vice President of Business Development, sees the telecommunications services side of the company tripling in size in the short term. "What we've discovered is that our project management experience developed in oil and gas translates well into the high growth telecommunications area," says Asselin. "We're extremely sensitive to the needs of our customers and their communities," say Asselin, "and they are asking for help with their telecommunications infrastructure projects".

Trigon's major telecommunications and fiber optics projects include fiber optic backbone and city builds (Los Angeles to Riverside and Houston to Kansas City), optical amplifier sites (Los Angeles to Phoenix), and archeological survey staking (Denver to Salt Lake City). Trigon provides the following services to the telecommunications industry: project management, route development, facilities site selection and permitting, GPS and total station surveying, engineering and design, mapping, AutoCAD design drafting, procurement, construction management, inspection, and as-built surveying and drafting. Projects already started in 2000 include: fiber optic backbone (East Chicago to South Bend, Indiana), optical amplifier sites (Wisconsin and Illinois), and permitting/surveying in Indiana.
